This particular style of Tai Chi is called Wu/Hoa Style, a form of martial arts that is ideal for students of all ages and all levels of fitness. Wu/Hoa Tai Chi is not only therapeutic, it can also be used as a defensive martial art. Whether you're looking to reduce your stress levels, lose weight, gain flexibility and muscle tone, or improve your over-all well-being, Tai Chi is one of the best low impact forms of exercise. A quote by Hao Shao-ru describes this form of Tai Chi: “to seek inner structure is the central objective. To seek inner structure is to seek unity among jing (essence), qi (Chi, or energy), and shen (spirit), and circulation of neijin (inner, concentrated qi power); controlling qi by refined consciousness is one of the most important characteristics of Wu style Tai Chi Ch'uan.” Furthermore, the important nature of Wu/Hao style T'ai Chi Ch'uan is, “following the opponent and taking advantage of his force to defeat him. Lure and guide the opponent to emptiness (unbalance him), and four ounces of strength deflects 10 thousand pounds' is it's principle.”
