The course will run every fourth week and will be held on a Sat. afternoon. Cost is £45 per session or £25 for Westminster and LCTA students.

The syllabus sets out to teach the physical vocabulary, strategies and methods of qi gong. It aims to provide a comprehensive foundation in Qi Gong and covers three primary areas.

Stage 1- Moving qi gong, (dong gong) - a series of movements designed to optimise health and general wellbeing. It starts with the musculo-skeletal system to stretch and tonify the muscles and ligaments/tendons and 'unstick' the connective tissue. This work  focusses on relaxation in movement, good respiratory technique and internal/external awareness. The work also opens the 'energy gates' and the 'energetic "channels" as well as massage the internal organs, lengthen and rotate the spine and improve circulation, oxygenation and lymphatic drainage. Much of this work centres on postural correctness in standing and dynamic forms and  introduces methods to ensure optimum posture, stress dissolving/release and balance. This stage teaches a set of movements designed to introduce the essential pyhsical vocabulary of moving qi gong and to establish the principles of dynamic movement, balance and alignment and the crucial practice of "Outside moving. Inside still".

Stage 2- Energy cultivation and mobilisation/circulation plus the guiding and inducing methods of Dao Yin (This is more medical Qi gong) this puts the emphasis on breath and mental intention rather than dynamic movement. It cultivates intention and awareness and a more subtle awareness of the internal landscape. This stage also includes 'qi absorbtion' techniques and introduces Heaven and Earth Qi Gong and 12 Jing Luo guiding and inducing practice and much more. This stage focuses on the breath and the sensation and cultivation and movement of energy.

Stage 3-  This stage introduces meditation and a closer study of respiratory technique. We will study  the classic "Small Circle Energy Circulation' and in addition "Cultivation and blending Pre Natal and Post Natal Qi",   "Nourishing Shen" and "entering Stillness". This stage can be referred to as ‘Jing Gong’ (Still qi gong) and the crucial practice of - Outside Still, Inside Moving.

Each stage is designed to build upon the last to give the student a comprehensive awareness of the language, aims and potential of qi gong. as well as providing a comprehensive three part practice. It is enough for a life times study and a treasure that will provides you with the means to maintain and optimise your own health and wellbeing throughout your life.

At the end of the syllabus I will teach the 5 Yin Organ method of Master Li Li Qun known as the "stepping back qi gong" (Dao Bu Fan Hui Qi Gong).

I hope you can join us on the fascinating journey that is qi gong.

The seminars are held in small groups of 20 people only. This means quality time with the instructor. Booking is necessary!
