Tony Henrys began training in Oriental Arts at the age of sixteen, practising first in Karate, then later in Judo, before commencing study in Tai Chi Chuan in the early 1980’s. He sought out the best of the Yang style Masters and this search eventually led him to China. In 1989 and 1990 he met Grandmaster Fu Zhongwen, the disciple of Yang Cheng Fu himself. Tony studied with Grandmaster Fu in the courtyard of his home address in Shanghai and also at Shanghai University where he was studying Chi Kung and the fabled secrets of Taoist philosophy with several of China’s greatest Masters. Fu Zhongwen died in 1994 and is now a ‘National Treasure’ of the Chinese People. He was undoubtedly the foremost exponent of the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan. It remains the intention of Tony to impart the rich knowledge of this great, classical art with precision and sincerity to anyone who has the desire to learn.
