About the instructor Michael Leslie:

I have studied the internal martial arts since 1995, starting with Yang Style Tai Chi with Fong Hue Fern who was a student of the Taiwanese Yang Style master Hsiung Yangho. In 2004 I became an instructor for W.A.C.I.M.A. studying Yang Style, Xing Yi, and Lan Shao. Since 2004 my main focus has been on the teachings of Yang Style tai chi master Wang Zhi Xiang, whom I visit annually to train with privately in Shanghai. Master Wang's system of Yang Style tai chi was created out of his experience studying under three main teachers: Dong Bin, Wang Hao Da, and Wang Zhuangong. His teaching technique is very well formulated and takes you on a journey through the physical body to eventually access the energetic work of tai chi. He emphasizes the importance of understanding tai chi theory and philosophy in order to realize the full potential of tai chi.
