Yin Yang Harmony Set Masterclass - Derby » UKTQF Masterclasses are designed to enable participants to have an immediate encounter with the foundation principles of the arts.
Yin and Yang are the Qi of the universe. These flow within the natural as well as the human worlds, making them the basic fabric of existence. With this set we look to harmonise the basic fabric of existence, through movement.
The Yin Yang Harmony Set extends and penetrates to the deepest level. It teaches about the beginning in emptiness, which then becomes full, giving us an understanding of the boundlessness, the limitlessness, of connectivity. www.uktqf.co.uk/CourseDetails.asp?EventID=280
- 18 May 2008
Skilled Hands Masterclass - Derby » UKTQF Masterclasses are designed to enable participants to have an immediate encounter with the foundation principles of the arts.
One of the most important aspects of Taijiquan; many masters would say the most important aspect of the art, known as T’ui Shou. The Chinese character for T’ui Shou is comprised of two ideograms. The main radical Shou translates as ‘hand’ and the ideogram T’ui or Chui translates as ‘bird’.
Shou can also have the meaning ‘skill’, ‘effort’ or ‘action’. Therefore one could argue that we have a bird in a skilled hand, as in the famous legend of the bird attempting to leave the Taijiquan masters hand without success because of his ability to sense and interpret the bird’s movement. The idea of ‘push’, carries with it the idea of force, exertion and muscular strength. So we use the term ‘skilled hands’.as a more precise translation. www.uktqf.co.uk/CourseDetails.asp?EventID=282

London; King's College, Meeting room 3, Boland Hou
01 June 2008 - 01 June 2008
The second of four one-day introductory workshops covering the three main branches of Chinese Internal Martial Arts: Tai Chi (Taijiquan), Pa Kua (Baguazhang) and Hsing I (Xingyiquan).
The workshops can each be taken individually as a stand-alone day or enjoy a deeper exploration of these practices by following the full course of all four.
The days are focused on giving the student an insight in to the fascinating world or these arts, showing exercises that allow the student to develop power, increase energy levels and confidence, leaving you with a sense of achievement and well being.
Tai Chi Chuan, (Supreme Ultimate Fist) is the most widely known and practised of the internal martial arts. It is often called a ‘soft’ art because of its characteristically slow movements, which allow practitioners to focus on the principles of their movement, although at more advanced levels there are also faster forms.
It focuses on the philosophy of the Yin and Yang, and hard/soft duality.
In this workshop you will learn the Tai Chi Ball exercises, Lifting the Water, the Pung and Lu energies from Yang style Tai Chi Chuan, and Standing Pole.

Yin and Yang are the Qi of the universe. These flow within the natural as well as the human worlds, making them the basic fabric of existence. With this set we look to harmonise the basic fabric of existence, through movement.
The Yin Yang Harmony Set extends and penetrates to the deepest level. It teaches about the beginning in emptiness, which then becomes full, giving us an understanding of the boundlessness, the limitlessness, of connectivity. www.uktqf.co.uk/CourseDetails.asp?EventID=285

A Day Of Tai Chi Qigong For Stress Reduction - Kendal » A day of Tai Chi Qigong for Stress Reduction
Cumbria; The Fellside Centre Kendal
23 November 2008 - 23 November 2008
Through calming and centering our minds and bodies, we are able to decrease over stimulation relating to our fight and flight responses to life, whilst nurturing and developing our capacity for recovery and rest, thus enhancing our capacity for maintaining healthy dynamic balance.
The practice of Tai Chi Qigong helps us to optimise and support our immune system, improving overall vitality. These exercises involve slow movement, positive intent, and natural breathing, all of which help to open, release and energise, rejuvenate and restore you.
The Stress reduction form is a short Tai Ch form taken from the Lee Family Style. The slow rhythmic movements are deeply relaxing while strengthening the body as a whole.
Complete beginners will really enjoy immersing themselves in this joyous art. Advanced practitioners will develop their knowledge of Kan and Li dynamics and learn the complete form.

Skilled Hands Masterclass - Llanilar, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion » UKTQF Masterclasses are designed to enable participants to have an immediate encounter with the foundation principles of the arts.
So we use the term ‘skilled hands’.as a more precise translation. www.uktqf.co.uk/CourseDetails.asp?EventID=286
