Home About Your Listings

To put your listings on Tai Chi FInder you need to register and login -  see left hand column of our home page.

You can securely login through Janrain with Google, Facebook etc. or set up a separate login for our site.

Contributors can add classes, and events (workshops, retreats etc.). You can also make changes to your listings and submit articles. Anything involving tai chi, qigong bagua, xingyi, yiquan and related arts should be most welcome.

Getting started

  • Use the either Login (on our home page) for your listings
  • See the user menu on the left for adding and editing your listings.
  • If you change your email address then please update your entries and from the "User Menu" change your details so you may still receive password reminders.
  • You need to have cookies enabled.

Logged in but cannot find your entries?

For security you can only update your own listings. Please keep it simple and use just the one login. We can move your entries across to a new login if necessary.

Listing regular classes

Local classes usually weekly or monthly. These stay listed until you delete them so they should be on-going.

Listing regular classes - what information to supply?

To list a regular class, start by clicking "Classes" then "Add Entry".

  • A title for your entry
  • Where to find it including town and country. NB. For UK classes you will need the map location for our search to find you.
  • A two-liner to tempt people to drill down and view your full entry - suitable for, time etc.
  • Optionally a detailed description
  • optionally a website link.
  • Contact details by phone and email (optional but advised)
  • Select the correct category (drilling down to the lowest appropriate level) for your class then press "Send"
  • To save repeating yourself, having setup one entry, all your other entries can be linked to it via the website link and share its page.

Listing events

What should you list as events?

Special events are events that people would travel a distance to attend - eg. competitions, retreats, visiting masters. Do list things that expire on a given day so that they will automatically disappear from our listings once completed. They may be one-off or repeating but not just a new intake of your regular weekly or monthly classes.

  • Stored venues: It is usually best to first add the venue where the event will be held to our directory if it doesn't already exist.
  • Cut and paste from your website? The editor has a 'Paste from Word' option to clean up all the crud that would otherwise display in the entry when copying an event from MS Word. Also a paste as text option.
  • Web links (urls) can be included in the text. In edit mode, the link icon in the editor is greyed-out. If you highlight the website address in your entry with the mouse it will enable the link icon. Then click the icon and set up the link.
  • Need to change something? You can edit your events - there is an icon by the title that you click.
  • Switch between html source view and wysiwyg
